The following articles have been published by news outlets. Although their information is often true, it is possible that the Mexican Government has issued information to the public that is not entirely accurate.
President Lopez Obrador has been questioned about the conflicted number of deaths that have been reported as a result of OTIS and often avoids the questions or he delivers stats that reflect a significantly lower damage. He often delivers his skewed updates through his Mañaneras , a morning broadcast he started since his presidency.

Both the governor of Guerrero and the mayor of Acapulco (from the Morena political party), have also tried to hide the severity of the crisis Acapulco and Guerrero as a state are experiencing. Since OTIS, they have lacked seriousness and their responses to the natural disaster have come delayed. We ask you to keep this in mind when their statements are cited.

The purpose of the attached links is to inform the public of the severity of Acapulco’s current crisis, but it is important to be transparent about certain Mexican authorities and their tendency to alter and control information that could make their administration look negligent.
